Why does Safe Soulmates need support?

Safe Soulmates is a not-for-profit independent organisation that does not receive statutory funding from the public sector. It is not a charity, but all surpluses are locked back to the organisation through its community interest company (CIC) structure.

The organisation is primarily funded by grants from various philanthropic organisations (see our supporters page to see more about them), donations from individuals and from many people volunteering to make the organisation a success. Membership fees are kept low to be affordable and they make it possible to pay for more staff. The founders, Vicky and Christine, who worked part-time on other jobs to fund Safe Soulmates for the first few years and their salaries are currently covered by a grant that is not guaranteed to continue indefinitely.

The organisation is always looking for more funding to do provide more to its members, even the services offered for a few are delivered by members who are paid from the service fees.
